PLEASE NOTE:

(1)   In addition to these base rates, we add a 15% tip that is shared among our staff, plus 2.8% for state and local taxes.
  (2) We generally find that 11-year-olds are old enough to fly fish and go on trail rides. However, we sometimes make exceptions for slightly younger children when we are persuaded that they have had extensive experience in riding or fishing.

YOUR OPTIONS

7-Night Total Vacation
Arrive at the ranch on a Friday or Monday. Spend your days fly-fishing, hiking and taking in the wonders of nature, both on our ranch and in the surrounding Gros Ventre National Wilderness Area. On three days, you can have horseback trail rides lasting from mid-morning to mid-afternoon in the national forest. On at least two days, you can learn more about the natural world around us by hiking with one of our hiking guides. You can also join our free fly-fishing clinic, and we'll loan you fly rods, reels and waders for a week of fishing on and near the ranch. If you are really ambitious, you can climb the Sleeping Indian mountain - an elevation gain of nearly 4,000 feet. When you get back, relax in our sauna.

4-Night Wilderness Experience
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday nights. Spend your days fly-fishing, riding and hiking on our ranch and in the untrammeled forest around us. We'll provide a free fly-fishing clinic, and we'll loan you fly rods, reels and waders. On two days, you can take trail rides from mid-morning to mid-afternoon into the National Forest that surrounds us. On one day, you can take part in a guided hike in gorgeous terrain. We have hikes of varying degrees of challenge.

3-Night Weekend Escape
Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Spend your days fly fishing, hiking and enjoying the outdoors. You'll have a chance to go on a half-day trail ride, a guided hike and also take part in a free fly-fishing clinic. You can use our rods, reels and waders for the weekend.

ABOUT OUR CHARGES

  • Deposits: We require a 30% deposit to guarantee a reservation. We can accept Visa, MasterCard or personal checks. If you reserve the whole ranch, we will require an additional 30% deposit 60 days before your arrival.
  • Cancellation Policy: Because our ranch only has five guest cabins, cancellations really hurt us. If you must cancel, we will return half of your deposit -- provided you notify us at least 60 days prior to your arrival. Later than that, your deposit will be non-refundable unless we can rebook all the space. If we can rebook the space, we'll return half of your deposit.
  • Final Payment: Your balance, including taxes and 15% gratuity, is owed to us two weeks prior to your arrival.
  • Tips: Your bill will include a 15% tip that goes directly into our employees' tip pool. The money is divided among the employees in proportion to the number of days they work. Extra tips are permissible but definitely not required.
  • Taxes: Your bill will include a state sales tax which works out to 2.8% of your nightly rate. (Wyoming has a 6% tax on sales and lodging. However, the tax applies only to the meals and lodging portion of your bill, not the portion attributable to fishing, riding and other recreational activities.)
  • Transportation: Your group and luggage may ride free in our Monday and Friday car shuttles to and from Jackson (and the Jackson Hole Airport). We charge $150 per trip when a guest asks us to arrange an extra trip to town.
  • Fishing Guides: With advance notice, we can arrange private fishing guides on the ranch. The rate is $225 for half a day. You are certainly welcome to fish anywhere without a fishing guide. Nearly all of our guests catch fish without hiring private guides. However, experience has shown that your chances of landing big cutthroats go up when you are with a guide.
  • Hiking Guides: The rate is $125 for a hiking guide to lead your group on an all-day trip up the Sleeping Indian mountain and back.
  • Riding Instructors: With advance notice, one of our ranch managers can give you basic riding lessons. The rate is $75 per hour.

THE NITTY-GRITTY

  • Pets: Sorry, guests are not allowed to bring pets.
  • Communications: Many cell phones work at the ranch. As a backup, you may use the ranch cell phone and reimburse us for the expense. If you want to check your emails, please bring along your wireless laptop. You can share our wireless internet signal in the Lodge. Our internet connection is slow but usable.
  • Minimum stay: three nights at the ranch. Here are the available time periods:
    • Three-night visit to the ranch: Arrival on Friday and departure on Monday.
    • Four-night visit to the ranch: Arrival on Monday and departure on Friday.
    • Seven-night visit to the Ranch: Arrival and departure on Friday or Monday.
  • Our 2012 season: The ranch opens to the public on June 8 and closes on September 21. We are closed all winter.
  • Capacity: 12-14 guests at the ranch.
  • Arrival and Departure:
    • Usual pickup time in town is between 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m.
    • If you are traveling by air, you might want to consider flying into Jackson Hole Airport a day or more ahead of your arrival at the ranch and flying out a day or more after you leave the ranch. There's a lot to do in and around Jackson Hole. And it may be easier to deal with the occasional missed flight or delayed bag if you are staying the first night at somewhere convenient in the town of Jackson. We'd be glad to recommend places to stay.
    • If you fly into the Jackson Hole Airport on the first day of your stay with us, we will be glad to meet your plane (assuming it arrives between noon and 4 PM) However, if you arrive before noon, you may have to wait at the airport for our driver to get down from the ranch. If you come in on a later flight, you may have to stay overnight at a motel or hotel in Jackson and we'll drive you to the ranch the next day.
    • On your day of departure, please plan to pack and leave your cabin by 11:30 a.m and have lunch in the lodge at noon. Our shuttles leave for town and the airport at 12:45 p.m.
    • If you must take an early flight out of Jackson Hole Airport, we'll schedule an early departure at no extra cost to get you to your flight. However, you'll miss breakfast and a morning of activities.
  • Liability Release. We can only accept guests willing to sign liability releases when they arrive. The releases can be found at www.flatcreekranch.com/release.pdf.
  • Smoking: To help prevent fires, we don't allow smoking except on cabin porches.
  • Broken items: If you break one of our fishing rods or other ranch property, please expect to pay for it. The charge for breaking a Sage fishing rod is $100.

THE REST OF YOUR TRIP

We would be glad to recommend lodging in and around Jackson, as well as restaurants and other activities, for the days before and after your stay. Here's one suggestion: On the morning before you check in at the ranch, you may want to take a rafting trip on the Snake River. Call us or click on our Concierge page for more ideas.
