Jackson Hole ranch fishing hiking retreat

OUR WILDERNESS ROAD

Getting here is just difficult enough to insure complete privacy for your stay. You will experience spectacular Grand Teton views as you drive through the National Elk Refuge. Then the road turns rougher as you climb on a rocky National Forest Service jeep track through virgin pine forest to the ranch.

Because of our bumpy road, we discourage side trips to Jackson during your stay.

Your options for getting to and from the ranch:

  • Ride with us in a ranch-owned Chevy Suburban between the ranch and Jackson (or the Jackson Hole Airport). We run free shuttles to and from town at our normal changeover times on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Hike part of the way. Ride in a ranch vehicle most of the way to the ranch then hike the most scenic (and bumpiest) section of the jeep trail while we transport your baggage. It takes 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on where you start hiking.
  • Drive yourself to and from Jackson. (This requires a four-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicle and a lot of patience.)

BRING ALONG (OR BUY IN JACKSON)

  • Fishing license
  • At least a dozen flies and a couple of leaders for fishing
  • Sun glasses (it's unsafe to fish without wearing glasses)
  • Daypack for hiking
  • Sun screen and bug spray
  • A hat
  • Rain-proof poncho or other lightweight rain gear
  • Alcoholic drinks, beyond the complimentary wine and beer we serve at dinner
